High melting point materials such as copper, silver, its melting point is high, not easy to fuse, but because of its low resistivity, can be made than the low melting point of smaller cross section size, less metal vapor produced during the melting, suitable for high breaking capacity of the fuse cutout . The shapes of fuse link are either filamentous or banded. Changing the shape of the variable section can significantly change the melt characteristics of the fuse cutout.
